$2 Million to Support Burn Survivors

Minister Responsible for Housing Rich Coleman joins Health
Minister George Abbott in announcing a $2-million grant to the B.C.
Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund Building. The new facility
will be the first of its kind in North America when it is completed
and will include a research laboratory facility for clinical trials
in burn and wound healing. It will complement the burn and wound
care afforded patients at the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn,
Plastic and Trauma Unit at Vancouver General Hospital and BC
Children’s Hospital Burn Program by providing accommodation for
family members facing prolonged stays in Vancouver during loved
ones’ acute and reconstructive phases of care.
