Province Fast-tracks New Supportive Housing for Homeless in KelownaMarch 19, 2008
Minister Coleman explains the details to media. The agreement will lead to the housing units being established at three locations in Kelowna, with construction scheduled to be completed by 2010. Two of the developments will house low-income singles while the third site will have larger family-type units for women and children.
“The Province is partnering with the City of Kelowna to create housing with support services for those in greatest need,” said Coleman. “This agreement ensures construction can begin as soon as possible, with the City contributing much-needed land and the Province funding pre-development costs.” |
